I’ve been majorly disappointed with iOS 18 ever since I turned on AI. Laggy in all aspects of the OS, intermittently. Laggy Spotlight. Laggy keyboard. Just general lag.

Turned off AI and it’s a different phone. Plus now I don’t have to see that garish border every time I invoke Siri. Win!

I may try this. The lag is getting annoying. I'm starting to get used to restarting my 16 Pro every couple days to clean things up. Not that restarting the phone is a difficult task, but I never had to do that before.

Yep it was driving me insane. Been many days since I turned off AI and the difference has been glorious and I haven’t felt the need to reboot a single time since.

In your experience, was the App Store slow? Mine opens quickly as you’d expect, but then updates take a few seconds to appear.

Honestly I don’t recall. I’m just so happy with AI off that it’ll take something special for me to turn it back on.

I’m on developer beta and have absolutely no problems with lag. Granted this is on an iPhone 15 pro max.

Introducing... iPhone 17 Pro.

None of this true, my phone runs just fine with it on, must be your phone that is the problem

I updated to iOS 18.2 and turned back on AI, and it seems to be running mostly fine. My iPhone 16 Pro Max is still definitely not as fast as my iPhone 15 Pro Max felt with iOS 17, but it's clear there's a lot more bloat on iOS 18.
