so, I finally got my G5 this morning (after a two month wait) and I used the handy "transfer the files and settings from your old computer" option during the first startup. Problem is, the old computer is a Powerbook and so the battery icon now shows up in my menu bar on the G5. AND, since the G5 isn't a laptop, I can't turn the battery icon off because there's no box to uncheck in the Energy Saver options!

Help!

This might be one for Apple Support.

Just give them a call and I am sure they will know what to do.

Which OS are you using? If you are on 10.3.4, an upgrade to 10.3.5 via software update (or a fresh install of the OS from the CD - leaving all of your files in place, of course) may solve the problem, but I really have no idea.
