Turning off iPhone 4 3G and Edge.

So I turned off my 3G and Edge so that I simply have 'At&T' on the upper left corner. I did this mainly just to check if I would get service. Would running my phone like this save battery life?

Turning off the network will save on battery usage. Get a battery app if you need to prove it to yourself.
