I've heard around the web that macros in ms office are one of the few ways to harm your mac, is there any way of turning them off?

There is probably still a Macro Virus Protection box in Prefs>General or something like that.

This should set it up to request running a Macro whenever a file with Macros is run.

Duff-Man says....you were very close! It is in Preferences -> Security - in there you set it to ask before opening files that contain macros.....oh yeah!

Damn, you would have thought that option should be set to "On" by default.

Edit: Hang on... it is.
