Is there a way to turn off or disable the screen side camera while using an IPhone 5 for a phone call? I sometimes seem to tap the camera app while on a phone call and suddenly my super handsome face is being broadcast. I don't see a privacy mode in settings. Is there anything like what I am seeking, something that turns off the camera or prevents it from starting up while I am using the phone as...gosh...a phone? :D

Are you talking about starting FaceTime while you are in a voice call? Can't say that it's been accidentally activated in my experience--since the phone's screen turns off when it's close to the face, let alone actually against the ear--but if you wanted to disable that, you would likely need to completely disable FaceTime in settings.
