I recently bought a turtle beach audio advantage micro ii USB dongle for my mac. the audio output port on my macbook pro seems to be slightly damaged, plugs now sit very loosely in the port with can cause audio to drop out if the cable is jiggled the wrong way. this has gotten to be rather irritating. so i bought the USB dongle to provide a new audio out jack. thing is, this particular dongle seems to output audio at REALLY high volume levels. if i turn both the system sound and iTunes' sound almost all the way down, i can achieve comfortable listening levels with headphones, but anything above that is LOUD.
Are there any utilities out there (either a download or already on my mac) that i could use to drop down the volume output of this USB dongle a bit?
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
