I've been trying to get my DSS2 processor to work with my 2011 macbook pro (10.6). I've tried a few freeware programs and utilities>audio midi setup, but the setup is only recognised as stereo and encoded digital output produces no sound at all.

For the time being I can still use the setup as headphones and an equaliser, but I would like to get the 5.1 working properly. I should also mention, they work fine with my xbox 360 and digital tv.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Straight from the horse's mouth, no support exists for OS X

Don't quote me on that, but I heard soundflower could let you run 5.1 through the optical out on OS X. Have not tried it personally.

I can set soundflower up so the the left front and rear speakers run to the left headphone and vice versa for the right, however I can't get the bass and centre to play through both.

I don't think this is going to work. But thanks for the help anyway!
