For those of you who are interested in really geeky Mac stuff, I have just written an in-depth tutorial which covers many of the aspects of setting up a VirtualBox/Mountain Lion/SheepShaver/Classic Mac environment under OS X El Capitan 10.11. In fact, it is in just such an environment that I currently run my old-school, Macintosh-oriented Hermes II PC-ANSI BBS, as well as my old-school, Macintosh-oriented Hotline chat, news and FTP server.
Why would a person even want to consider setting up something like this? You will find a good reason in my tutorial; that is, if you have an interest in preserving old-school Macintosh computing. All indications are that the axe may already be laid to the tree, and the days of 32-bit apps may be numbered. So, I am preparing for the future, NOW, with this setup.
Please bear in mind that this is the first version of this tutorial. As such, with time, I may possibly polish it up a bit, and add some new information to it. We'll see.
