TuxPaint keeps quitting

I downloaded Tuxpaint and the App icon is on my desktop but when I double-click it,it says 'unexpectedly quit' before it even starts.I think it's unstuffed properly-I have Stuffit Expander 8.0.2;the minimum system reqs for Expander 9.0 appear to be OSX10.3....but Tuxpaint is supposed to work with 10.1... :confused:
Can anyone help? My little boy is going to kill me if I don't sort him out with a cool drawing program!! :eek:
