Apps TV Absolute - UK channels don’t work

What is it you're trying to do? Watch UK TV channels illegally? I suggest heading off to some sort of KODI forum where they specialise in such things.
I would have thought if they were in apps on the App Store they were legal.

Legal to download but not necessarily to use. Anyone can download BBC iPlayer from the UK app store, but if you're not in the UK and don't pay the license fee, then you're a criminal. It's really that simple.
UK TV content is intended exclusively for UK residents, which is why it's IP locked. If you circumvent that, you're a thief.
Well firstly let me just say this is a forum where I thought we were here to help each other, hence my post warning other forum members in order to save them time and money.
As you are clearly a legal expert - Isn't what you talk of (in the UK) a civil matter to do with contract violation? Hence not criminal. Also non UK residents would not have entered into a contract with UK TV companies, so could not have breached a contract.
BBC iPlayer is only available in the UK App Store, so those of us outside the UK that use the app store correctly do not have multiple accounts in different countries and hence can't download it, let alone use it.
KODI of what you spoke about in your previous post was a grey area unit this year, when it was classed as illegal to record paid for content but not streaming. A further court case found it was also illegal to stream paid for content. No ruling as far as I am aware for FTA streaming. Perhaps with your sharp legal brain you can point me to a case where where that judgement was made?
Many apps are on the App Store that advertise you can watch TV from around the world, there is no notice from the developer or Apple that it is in anyway against the law. Filmon has been on the App Store for 5 or 6 years and until recently was free (though there were ads through Apples iAD - So Apple was getting a cut) and now its a paid service and Apple is getting a cut. None of the apps require you to use a VPN to circumvent a locked IP.

It's a legal requirement to have a "TV Licence" in the UK, which pays for the BBC. It's basically a tax at this point, which you have no real way of avoiding, even if (like me) you watch next to nothing on the BBC - now that's criminal
Yes but there is no requirement to have a UK tv licence outside the UK. You will see large satellite dishes throughout Europe legally receiving UK TV - FTA that is, encrypted channels are subject to a contract to get the card to decrypt and that contract restricts reception to UK. Breaking that is a breach of contract. I haven’t seen any court cases regarding that. I know Sky have turned off cards that they have found to be used overseas.
Again I have not seen any court cases regarding streaming of FTA channels in countries other than their origin, so currently it’s a grey area.
Unfortunately your TV licence is a licence to receive live TV signals in the UK. It’s not for watching BBC so as you say you have to pay it whether you watch BBC or not. Aparently some of the money goes to Channel 4 as well ( bet it’s not much).
As a UK licence payer i wonder how you and others feel about the BBC world service which has now expanded into Korea. I wonder how much that costs? No charge to all the countries that get it, it’s paid for by people like you. Can’t be right can it? They worry about people using their own expensive large dish getting an “overspill” of TV signal, yet they setup and run dedicated radio stations to non paying countries.
