i have an external converter that takes an analog video source
and converts it to firewire. is there a way i can use this firewire
source and view it on my desktop without something as
powerful as final cut's capture functionality?

i'm thinking of just using it to open small window to view a tv
source while i work.

thanks,
BabaG

have you tried using Qucktime Pro with your device connected? under the recording tab in quicktime preferences see if it is listed as a device.

qt works but under the recording section doesn't seem
to allow for things like taking the image up to full screen
or anything larger than native.

found something called hTV which seems, while limited,
to work.

thanks,
