I have had my 2010 Macbook Pro connected to my 32" Sony Bravia TV for about 6 months now. Over the past week, I have been having issues. I drag movies onto the TV screen so I can do work on my Mac. The TV has been randomly loosing the connection. I i am watching something 1 hour long, it will do it 3 to 5 times. It is connected thru HDMI. The TV will just turn black for a few sec, then back to the video. It does not restart, just looses the connection. then when it comes back, there is no sound, so i have to quit VLC and then open the video file again to get sound and find out where I left off. It has become a major pain, since i watch a lot of movies and TV shows on it. When the TV looses the connection, the Mac screen turns blue

mine does this too, bot it picks it up again right after.
what your mentioning about vlc is actually vlc that sux, for some reason it will only work with the devices connected when you opened it, so if you were watching a movie and decided to watch it on the tv you would have to restart vlc too.
