I've noticed certain movies show up with a different "technical" quality depending on how you reached that movie on the TV app.

For example, if I view the Noteworthy Movies list on the TV app and select Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, it shows as being in HD:

However, if I view it by selecting it from the Now Available to Rent list, it shows as being in 4K Dolby Vision and Atmos:

If you dig deeper, you might find one with a 4K, 1080p, 720p and SD versions. It's common. People have different TVs, limited speed Internet, limited space on their iDevices, etc. Some want a lower resolution for any such reasons. Lower resolution means smaller file size and/or faster delivery/more efficient stream through slower Internet connections. I think it's ALWAYS been possible to choose a resolution from 2+ choices wherever possible.

Finding a 3D movie on sale I went to purchase it. I was given 2 options after I selected it: regular edition or extended edition. Selected the extended edition but it turns out it was not in 3D. Called Apple and they refunded my purchase and I then repurchased the 3D regular edition. Took a couple of days for the purchase to be cancelled so I could re-purchase.
