For a few months now, the TV app won't play any show (TV+) that would ask for an age restriction. Prior to that, I was always asked twice to confirm I wanted to watch.
  • I am in an iCloud family, but I am the organiser (and pay for the family)
  • There are no screen time or other restrictions enabled for me or anyone in the family
  • Works on all my other devices (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV)
  • Plays fine on tv.apple.com
  • Non-age restricted content is okay (e.g. Ted Lasso)
  • On 15.5. It's been like this for a number of updates (I have been on the dev betas, though)
I've also tried another family's profile on the Mac but they have an entirely different problem...TV app won't recognise they have the shared TV+ subscription.

Anyone else had this issue? Solutions? Something I can try out?

Call Apple Support.

It's pretty good, and helpful.

I would call vs. using chat. If the person you get seems like they're not able to help, just ask for an escalation. I've had very very good experiences with escalations.
