iPod touch TV out volume

Hello, I am using the Apple composite tv-out cable to watch a movie rented from the iTunes store. Even with all possible volume controls turned up to 100% (iPod, TV, Amplifier) the overall volume is still fairly low. Hard to hear from 2 metres away.

Can anyone please advise on how to increase the volume heard during playback?
