iPod TV Show issue

OK, so I went thru all my TV shows (ripped from dvd) and labeled them as TV Show. Updated my ipod 5G 30GB and under Movies, I do not see a TV show section like apple has on their website. Am I doing something wrong?

I restored the ipod, reloaded everything...still no menu for TV shows.

Anyone?

Look in your iTunes preferences, under the General section, and make sure that the TV Shows box is checked.

Yes..its checked, that seems to be for iTunes only.

This is for my ipod, no TV Shows section.

I can see my music, movies, and music video's

Okay, then on the iPod, what's enabled in Settings->Main Menu?

(It looks like the normal default location is under the Videos section -- I don't have any TV shows in iTunes to check this though)

duh at me..Finally found it on Apples website after 60 minutes of reading:

Videos labeled TV Shows in iTunes don't appear on iPod
Issue or Symptom

iTunes 6.0.2 or later includes an option to select "TV Show" as a "Video Kind" for videos that were not purchased from the iTunes Store.

While iTunes will respect this selection, you will not be able to see those videos listed on your iPod by selecting Videos > TV Shows. TV Shows purchased from the iTunes Store will show up as expected.

Solution

To make these videos visible as TV Shows on your iPod, follow the steps below:

Update to iTunes 7.0 or later.
Select the affected video and choose Get Info from the File menu.
In the Video tab, select TV Show and then make sure that at a minimum a value is entered in the Show field.
You an optionally enter values for Episode ID, Episode Number and Season Number
Click OK and resync your iPod
