What are the current resolution of TV shows bought at the iTunes Store? Will this be upgraded when the Apple TV shipps? I don't want to buy a season of Heros to only have the resolution upgraded 2 weeks from now.

The current resolution on shows is 640x480, or 640x360/272, etc if it's widescreen. No one really knows if Apple will have videos available in higher resolution later..itll happen when it happens.

Eventually you just know Apple will offer everything in HD but it wont be anytime soon. Maybe next year.

Anyhoo... I have some iTS TV shows and movies I watch via frontrow on my 42" HDTV and the picture is just as good as a DVD. Technically it is not DVD but you can't tell the difference I assure you. I was worried about crap quality when on TV but I am amazed at how good they look. :)

I will give it another week and then start using those iTunes gift cards.
