I recently downloaded this application and in theory, it's perfect for me. I just moved into my college dorm so i dont have a tv and hate keeping track of when episodes air and which to download, etc...

However it's not working.

The program launches fine and the torrents actually start but:

1) they open up in Opera (which I didnt even know I had) and not through my torrent program of choice.

2) They don't download at all, with everything staying at 0.

3) The preferences are beyond silly and superficial and dont let me choose anything of substance (like which torrent program to use)

Anyone have experience with this application?

I use it just fine with Transmission. I'd make sure your default app is set (right click a torrent file, open with, check always open with). Maybe uninstall Opera?

Some day 1.0 will be out, which might help as well...

Yeah, some day in the next years...!

How do you remove the ***** thing?

I thought I removed the application, I can't find it anywhere but the background process still downloads shows (even after I manually removed everything in the application, I reinstalled, then removed, then re-uninstalled).

Ay ideas? It's so annoying!

TV Shows leaves some files in your User Library. Remove the following files.

~/Library/Application Support/TVShows
~/Library/LaunchAgents/net.sourceforge.tvshows.plist

Enjoy!

Thank you so much! This had been puzzling me for far too long!
