I hooked up my Mac, using an HDMI cable, to my TV. I left the computer running when I left the house, came back, and found the TV monitor (which had been off) had the default background stuck on it (I say default because I had switched it from the galaxy pic to the beach pic).

I've tried disconnecting the HDMI cable and turning off the TV for the night, but that didn't work. The TV screen doesn't show any icons, nor can I see the cursor. My lap top works just fine, though...

Please help!

Go to "System Preferences," "Display," and check "Mirror Display." I think that should solve your issue.
