Cheers

Three's Company

Growing Pains

Due South

"Due South" I remember, and I even remember that I liked it.

As for the others, I'm afraid to say that I have never even heard of two of them, and, though the name "Cheers" did penetrate my consciousness, in that I know it exists, just as I know Borneo exists, I have never seen an episode of the programme.

Personally, I loved John Barry's theme to "The Persuaders", the terrific theme to "The Prisoner' (starring Patrick McGoohan), the wonderful and quirky theme to "The Odd Couple", and the superb theme to "Robin: The Hooded Man" (by Clannad).

There are others, which I shall post as they occur to me.

It would be this for sure:

I honestly feel really nostalgic after listening to it after all these years.

Together We Stand was a very short lived 80s sitcom, but a gem. The intro tune was pretty cool too, and this is the only one I could find on Youtube.

Wow. I don't remember that at all. Looks like a parody of an 80s sitcom. Funny to see a young Scott Grimes. This show isn't even on his IMDB page.

Speaking of parodies...

Theme songs are mostly a thing of the past. They eat into ad time.

okay, hands down, my absolute favorite opening sequence from when I was little.
I would hide behind my hands, but just peek out a little bit...
my heart was in my throat the entire way "down the stairs"...
(this is a fan art sequence, but I posted for the HD effects instead of the original. the originals are all pretty bad recordings)

I can totally remember my dad getting popcorn ready and running to the couch to not miss this! lol

Also, the AHS opening credits were pretty cool, too. Especially Asylum an Freakshow

Some other ones that I liked were:

MASH
Beverly Hillbillies
and (don't laugh) Mr. Belvedere! lol (It had that Pittsburgh sign! lol)

A couple of favorites from the early-mid 90s...
Ducktales

X-Files

Beverley Hills 90210 (hey, i was young then!)

Cheers

What a great series. So far ahead of its time. Might have to give it a watch during my upcoming 14 days off of work.

I remember watching it with my brother - both of us absolutely utterly and totally riveted - when we saw it on TV - a re-run - in the very late 70s; a brilliant series, which aged extremely well.

Sounds like a good idea; I'd re-watch it myself; and the cast was terrific.

I've seen it twice but haven't watched in quite some time. I bought the DVDs when I saw the series on sale for like $40. Now to dig out the old DVD player and hook it up to my TV.

Just watched the longer version of the opening credits again - for a series that is almost 50 years old, it still rocks.

I loved the Neon Genesis Evangelion intro. The Cruel Angel Thesis was a pretty catchy tune.
But hands down, the best theme song goes to Where on Earth is Carmen San Diego? I would learn many years later theme music was composed by Mozart himself.
I liked the Star Trek: Enterprise intro. It's about the only thing good about Enterprise:oops:...very impressive visual, so so theme song.

Can't believe i forgot The Wonder Years theme (Joe Cocker's cover of With a Little Help From My Friends)....

This is Jesse Mach, an ex-motorcycle cop, injured in the line of duty. Now a police troubleshooter, he's been recruited for a top secret government mission to ride Street Hawk -- an all-terrain attack motorcycle designed to fight urban crime, capable of incredible speeds up to three hundred miles an hour, ...and immense firepower. Only one man, federal agent Norman Tuttle, knows Jesse Mach's true identity. The man...the machine...Street Hawk !

Evangelion has already been posted; that was my entry. Simply the greatest opening of all time. The way the imagery suddenly becomes disturbing and starts flashing by more quickly when the chorus starts; it's amazing. The first time I saw it, I knew the show was going to be awesome. I wasn't disappointed :)

And so ripe for parodies:

This one came to mind first, since the new Lost in Space is only days away from its premiere. Composed by John Williams, no less.

This one’s always a classic:

And when I think of The Avengers, I really don’t think of superheroes.

And I do have this relatively unknown favorite composed by Dominic Frontiere. This is the extended version from the pilot. It starts out slow but becomes quite catchy. The show itself was pretty sophisticated for 1972.
