TV to iMovie

i am looking for the easiest way to get t.v. footage into a format that i can edit on iMovie. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

not positive if the Elgato eyetv hybrid will do what you want, but the website says you can "record hours of your favorite TV shows directly on your hard drive and edit out unwanted content."

Elgato Systems (proper link) has several systems which will record both analog and digital TV, including OTA digital TV. The company sells editing software which explicitly exports to iMovie.

I just bought an eyeTV Hybrid. I love it. It records my favorite shows in HD and exports shows that to my ipod to watch on the road.

best $150 I ever spent.
