tvOS 14 - 'Computers' media fully adopted the 'landscape artwork'.

Yesterday I installed tvOS beta on my AppleTV, also restore my MacBook to add Big Sur (but not public beta yet) - so I put some of my media back, a couple of movies and TV Shows; and this morning went to watching and noticed that the artwork/area displayed in now the "new" style that launched with TV app last year.

Gone is the displaying of the Square 3000x3000 artwork, and now Landscape 3849x2160

I kinda knew this day was coming but throughout Catalina I've got used to keeping the square in the TV app as I mainly stream on AppleTV and it still displaying the larger square... Now it just looks wrong.

I guess I have a summer project now, to download and to meta tag over a 1000 movies, and a few hundred tv shows.

You know what the 14 stands for? PG14. All fluff, no Apple substance like in the good ol' days. Oh and 64bit Apps only since Catalina.

The downside of changing all my 600 movies - not all of them have the horizontal artwork, not all my ATVs are version 4 onwards, time, small possibility that Apple go back to traditional portrait movie posters, I like the genuine old movie posters that were around when the movies were released.

Big Sur and the Music/TV app screwed up my music/movie library big time. It is a mess. I screwed around with it for a few days and finally gave up. Installed Retroactive which allowed me to install iTunes 12.9. Everything works looks and works as normal now. iTunes is far from perfect but miles better than the Music app.

I know it's in Apple's best interest to dissuade users with their own large media libraries and it shows. Homeshare used to work great years ago but now is almost unusable especially on iOS. I'm starting to research an exit strategy from the Apple ecosystem. Something other than Plex.

Not a huge fan of Plex 'look'. Firecore looks nice just not tried it.
