Hi.

I just updated my AppleTV 4K (model A1842) to tvOS 18.2.1. The device has been connected to Ethernet (as it sits next to my router).

After the 18.2.1 update, the AppleTV will no longer connect to Ethernet but only to my WiFi. Multiple restarts, trying different Ethernet cables and ports, as well as getting the machine to forget the WiFi connection have not succeeded. The AppleTV will only connect to WiFi (even with Ethernet plugged in) and if the WiFi connection is stopped, the device remains offline.

This change coincided with the AppleTV rebooting after the 18.2.1 update.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Cheers

Az

have you done a hard reboot (pulled power) or just a soft?

probably not going to do anything, but can't hurt.

Just realized it was a 1st gen 4k

there was an issue quite a while ago where the ethernet stopped working, was a hardware issue, I was able to get mine replaced under warranty (or maybe an extended replacement window for a known issue). I'm also thinking it was the original ATV4 (so the 1080 model before the 1st 4k). but it's been quite a while, probably would have been 2017/18.
