I have access to the beta through Appleseed but haven't installed it yet. What are people seeing about the persisting of Airplay speakers with the latest beta's? For example HomePods or Sonos? I've used my paired Sonos' 5's with my ATV and it works great except for having to constantly reset it as the default device.

Yes, I have to select the airplay speakers (Sonos) every time. I have a year old Vizio, which has hdmi arc. My solution is to use the HDFury Arcana, about $175, and ignore the TV, wiring right into the Sonos setup (Beam, 2 One SL's, and Sub). The bedroom setup is a pair of HomePods. They work flawlessly on the betas. I'd wait until the GM, as Amazon Prime, and Netflix are so, so. Fuse runs fine. YMMV. Why bother with the Arcana? I'll upgrade to the Arc when it's a more mature product. Why a Beam and 2 One SL's? Price when purchased at local Costco. Added sub later.

curious, if your TV has ARC, and you have the beam, why are you using the arcana?
the Beam and your TV should do everything you need. and it seems you're just making it more complicated.
and since you can airplay right to the beam. you don't need to bypass the TV if you only want to stream music.

the only reason for the arcana is E-ARC, which is needed for Atmos on the sonos Arc. (beam doesn't have atmos, so you only need regular ARC, not Enhanced)
you'd also need one if your TV doesn't have ARC to begin with.

Airplay has always had different levels of success depending on which app you're tying to stream from.
a wired audio connection is always going to be more stable with current tech.
