The ONLY thing I liked about Android phones I had was how the screen didn't light up when you got a text. I feel like that could save me a lot of battery life since my phone is in my pocket when I get texts and I usually don't read them right away.

I have a jailbroken 6 Plus on iOS 8.1.1

Is there a tweak or setting out there that can do this? I still want it to ring/vibrate when I get a text, just not turn the screen on. Half the time my pocket manages to unlock it too and type random stuff lol. (I hate passwords.)

OnlyOneNotification does it.

I just tell my wife it's someone from work ;-)

LOL just kidding... but seriously, like the others have said just don't display in notification center\popup.

Haha noooo no hiding here, faithful to the same girl since high school, 7 years and counting now but thanks for the suggestions, the notification center one works (completely forgot about those settings!) but I don't like it because it doesn't show that I have a new text from the lock screen now.

I was hoping to have the alert/vibrate go off when I get a text but not have the screen turn on for it, BUT still have it showing on the lock screen if I were to hit a button.

Right now it vibrates/rings but doesn't show anything on the lock screen to say I have a text.

I know I was just teasing you... I do turn them off sometimes to. I don't want the bright light of a message to wake me up, but I don't want to use the do not disturb feature because if someone calls and it's an emergency, I want to be awaken ... awoken.... waken up.... whatever you call it. I want it to wake me up! LOL

lockinfo7 allowed you to get notifications and what not without waking up your device. it is a pretty big change to the lockscreen though

i'm not sure if lockinfo8 still has this feature
