I was helping my friend set up his new mid-range white MacBook the other day and I noticed that at first, the colors were very fuzzy and the picture very grainy. We changed the colors to "millions" and upped the gamma settings in the Display settings in System Preferences, and it really helped. The screen was soon very bright and the colors were rich.

However, even after doing the same on mine (although mine didn't really have the speckly screen problem like his did) the colors on his remained richer, even when contrast was all the way down on both machines.

What programs/tools can I use to adjust the settings of my MacBook's screen? I want to make the colors a bit richer without necessarily adjusting contrast (I realize that I can make colors seem richer using Ctrl-Option-Command-Period but it also whites things out)... is there an app I can use? A command line? The "Displays" section in Sys Pref is kind of limited...

Thanks!
