You can now get a credit towards the purchase of a new iPod or other products at Tweeter retail stores in the US.

The offer is not available online, you must go to your local Tweeter store. They will give you a credit towards the purchase of a new iPod or other products. The trade-in value will depend on the model and condition of the iPod you trade-in.

i didn't even know you could get an iPod at Tweeter! i get all my apple stuff from apple unless there's a really good deal somewhere else (amazon.com comes to mind).

i haven't heard anything about this yet in the mainstream, though. since it is so new, i suppose it'll take a while to become a popular trade-in method. anything's better than apple's 10% trade-in discount.
