Twitter app hangs on URL launch

The two most recent updates to the Twitter app hang/crash when viewing a tweet with an embedded link. If you view the tweet and quickly choose "open in Safari" everything works fine but if you allow the app to try and display the content (ex: tumblr) it freezes and then crashes.

iPhone 4, 5.1.1 jb.

your still using the stock twitter app? tweetbot is my go to app so much better.
