Twitter today announced that it has started rolling out a redesigned version of its TweetDeck Twitter client, which it has been working on since earlier this year.

The new version of TweetDeck is rolling out to a "limited number of accounts" of randomly selected people in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

According to Twitter, the new design is meant to better align with the design of the Twitter websites and mobile apps, incorporating more Twitter.com functionality.

There's a design that is indeed more similar to the standard Twitter design, which may upset TweetDeck users who are accustomed to the multi-column view. TweetDeck is gaining features that were previously only available though the standard Twitter website, such as an Explore topic.

Following this limited test, Twitter will likely be bringing the TweetDeck redesign to a wider audience. Those who have been selected for the beta rollout will see an invitation within TweetDeck to opt in.

I got the new TweetDeck preview today and, honestly, after you configure it to look like how you want it to look like, it's basically TweetDeck with full Twitter functionality, so it's fine.

EDIT: Added Tweet I found that explains same thing.

Does this app require certain ports TDP/UDP in order to connect to Twitters servers? Checking for Firewall restrictions.

I'm gonna guess not, as I use TweetDeck at work all the time and we have a firewall. But your mileage may vary.

What announcement is needed: Twitter is rolling out bot and troll restrictions as well as major data privacy enhancements. Obviously those are not going to happen.

Twitter is now a toxic platform...

TweetDeck on macOS is the one Twitter app where I don't get unwanted follow suggestions and ads. Please tell me they are not ruining TweetDeck!

Since I'm not familiar with any Twitter clients not being a user, I read TweetDuck at first and thought some Twitter DuckDuckGo collab was in the works

Can anyone with the beta tell me whether the issue where the UI locks up for about twenty seconds and then unfreezes (which happens also at tweetdeck.twitter.com) has been fixed?
