Twitter: Show/Hide Retweets from Someone You Follow

Is anyone else having trouble toggling this option for people they're following? For me, it just remains "off" after I refresh the browser, but the results are inconsistent as I still see retweets for some people I've turned off and sometimes none for those I've turned on.
 
FYI: I tweeted Twitter @support and was informed they already know about the issue. See below note from their support page:

Update 9/21/2011 (EP): Some users report that even when they've turned off Retweets for a specific user, they still see that user's Retweeted Tweets in their timeline. Our engineers are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. Other users may not see retweets that they've turned on for users. Follow @support for updates on this issue.
