My husband and I each have a white 20" iMac. Purchased them at the same time (Jan 2007), but from different stores.

The problem is that screen brightness differs on the 2 screens. His display is much brighter than mine on the same settings. Even when we've set the brightness to maximum, and chosen the same color profiles (iMac), my screen is much darker, while he can see detail I never see.

I've tried calibrating numerous times, but have never been able to see the same detail he does. What looks like black on my screen isn't black on any other screen I've looked at. Does anyone know of any setting I might be missing? Is it a hardware or software issue?

Thanks.
