I have a powermac g5 outfitted with a ATI Radeon x800xt. Currently I have one 30" Apple cinema display connected and was curious if I was able to add a second. If so would I need any adapters or would I be able to directly connect the second display into the graphics card? Any info would be appreciated.

Well, on the manufacturer's website, it specifies that the x800xt has a dual-link DVI port and an ADC port- I assume your 30" is plugged into the DVI. According to a blurb in an Anandtech article, the ADC connector only carries single-link DVI.... Which means a max rez of 1900x1200. To get another 30", you would probably have to pick up a new graphics card.

Darn I was really hoping I would be able to without an upgrade. Thanks for the information.

Only card that can do Dual 30' is the 6800 OEM cards.

Thanks for the information. I wonder if it would be a wise move for me to puck up this card with my aging PM G5.

If so anyone have any suggestions where I would be able to pick one of these cards up for cheap?

thanks
