You do realize that he was not actually making a phone call, so the screen would have no reason to turn off. Plus, this is not the first time that the iPhone has been mis-represtened on Television.

in the latest episode he is not actually really answering a call you know, he just pressed home and the screen light up, nothing more to see here 
For the 2G episodes the phone is flipped to cover the apple logo, I like the Nickelodeon approach better, they just stamp a pear on top of it and be done w/ it...

This is stupid, they dont want to advertise it thats it?
Is not stupid, is a business and makes money for both parties usually; when they can't get into an agreement due to the product not wanting to be represented in X show or the show wants the products that appear to pay X amount or simply the show wants to keep it all in parody and can over-exaggerate features and unrealistic/fake programs to run in them, there are many reasons and none are stupid.

I always thought it was because its trademarked by apple, therefore they are not aloud to use it. I could be wrong though.

Two and a half men is the best show on TV. Hands down!!! As for Sheen, i dont have to deal with him so he isnt my problem. There are a lot of actors in Hollywood that are jerks that are worse than he is.
A friend of mine who works at the Apple store told me someone once came in and said, "hey, I know you guys have these Apples, but ya'll got those pears like iCarly?". The employee had no response for him..

Correct. They are not actually receiving a call; they are just unlocking it or pressing the home button. Is it that hard to realize that?
