Hi:

I've had an Apple watch for a while (S2 Nike+) and just bought my wife one for Christmas. We each have our own phone, and she paired her watch with her phone and everything seemed to work fine (she gets her notifications and calls, no cross-over between our stuff). We are on the same iCloud account.

However, whenever I go for a run she gets the data added to her activity. I went into both of our Health apps and isolated everything so that only our own phone and watch is present. While doing that I switched off to my Garmin for a week and confirmed that she doesn't get those workouts.

Today I used my Apple Watch again ... and of course she got my run data dumped into her activity.

Anyone know what I can do about this?

Create your own iCloud account and set up family sharing so you still have access to the apps/content you've paid for over the years.

1 iCloud account = 1 person
This is the way. Healthkit syncs to the cloud now so any phone/watch will show the data for the account that the phones are logged in to. You can turn off health kit syncing and it will help.

I have three series 3 watches paired with my iPhone 7+ and three series 2 watches paired with my 6S+. I can keep them separate by turning off health kit syncing.
