two automator questions.

I am trying to create a resize photo workflow. But two issues really bug me. Maybe someone can help me on this.

1. is there a way to keep both resized photo and the original photo instead of having the resized photo only? for example: say I have two photos to resize, pic1 and pic2, after I run the automator, can I have pic1, pic2 AND resized_pic1, resized_pic2?

2. after I run the automator, the the icons of resized photos become small snapview, is there a way to keep them as regular picture icon?
