So i want to be able to use airplay in my boat for music.. Specifically pandora... So i want to connect a apple airport express in my boat... So i can wirelessly stream music to my stereo (will just connect the express to my boat radio) The problem is... Since this is on a boat i wont have internet connectivity on the airport express, but i would i my phone... So is there a way to have the phone connected to the airport express to be able to use airplay while still been able to use my 4G network to get pandora playing in my boat?

I don't think so. This is the same problem people are running into in cars when they install apple tvs. Apple was supposed to be toying around with an "Airplay Direct" feature that would have the iphone make the wifi network and send data to the apple tv all by itself but it never got announced.

Now will the airport express connect to my iphone 4g and make its own network? Like if i pick extend? will it let me connect to my phone tethering?
