Two external harddrives on RAID.0?

I'm wondering if running two external harddrives on RAID.0 (OS X's software RAID) would be a good idea.

I'm not going to store anything important on the drives. I just want the drive to appear as one drive, and more speed is always nice.

I am going to use two identical 2TB drives for this.

I don't believe that's possible with separate external drives, and if it was it wouldn't be particularly reliable or fast.

You need a NAS Box really.
