the two finger gesture on the track pad to go back on pages on google chrome is hardly working and maybe works about 90% on other browsers. Is this a common problem on Chrome?

Chrome is a common problem on macs, it is coded poorly runs badly and is a resource hog for CPU, especially when running flash.

As to your issue try messing with the trackpad settings to see if that helps but I'd reccomend you switch browsers.
