That's just nuts - not only the fact that they survived, which is great, but that much time alone together on a small boat must have made it that much more difficult.

Good thing they were fishermen and had fishing equipment. And, not knowing too much about Kiribati climate but, they probably was lucky that it rained (enough) only 5-10 days without water may be enough to kill you....

That really reminds me of this one guy was was lost at sea all by himself, fo 76 days, with nothing but a small inflatable raft, and no fishing equipment.

Its abolutely remarkable to read about. Sharks would bump his raft at night, and he tried all kinds of things to try to catch pure water (rain/condensation), and caught fish on weird things and ate them raw.

Makes you wonder if you'd ever eat sushi again....

One thing the story doesn't say is what happened when they got back - everyone must have thought them dead.
