I'm thinking about buying a HomePod mini as a Christmas gift for someone who lives in a house that already has a HomePod (Original). They share the WiFi, but can they exist separately and work off of each others own account? I've read a few things but the articles/feedback was somewhat outdated and maybe things have changed? I don't want to buy it as a gift if it's going to be a headache for both people in the home. Any thoughts?

Using the same WiFi Network should not affect the two different HomePods. The WiFi is just there to connect them to the internet (to their Apple IDs). Just think of having some friends over who use your WiFi with their iPhones...
