Two iPads different syncs

I have had an iPad 1 for a couple of years and now have an iPad 3 as well. They appear to sync from two different places as the data on the iPad 3 is not transferred to the iPad 1 when synced. How can I get them to sync to each other so that the latest data is transferred. Any new data always goes on the iPad 3.
