two ipads - what happens with app data?

Hi,

I just bought a refurb ipad 2 for my kids, so they leave my ipad 3 alone

I've restored it from a backup of my ipad, and synced their games to it, and they all seem to have the correct save games with progress etc.

but what happens now? If they play the games and progress, when their ipad syncs will my ipad get the new save games; will their ipad regress to the same state as mine; will they now start their own parallel paths?

both are using my apple ID for store, but have separate apple IDs for icloud and game center

As long as the iPads have different names, then iTunes will treat them as different devices.
That's how it works for our iPads.
