I like to rip my CDs to AIFF for Hi-Fi listening. However, I like to have more storage on my iPod. Can I keep one iTunes library with AIFF files and the other with Apple Lossless for iPod syncing? On the same computer.

Since I can not hear the difference between AIFF & ALC on iPod, no need to on AIFF on it. However, I can hear the difference on my Hi-Fi system so I have to have AIFF there.

Figured it out!

Hold down "option" key while opening iTunes to create new library. Then from original library, convert everything to Apple Lossless and move the files to second library and delete the ALC files from the original library.

This will maximize my 160gb iPod and not effect my main Hi-Fi music system. Best of both worlds.
