1. I prefer to have the illumination on the keys permanently turned off. I can use the F6 key to turn them off by hand, but the next time I restart they are on. Is there a way to turn them off... forever! ;)
2. All the functionality from the function keys work fine, except for the volume control. When I press louder, softer or mute, I get a giant icon in the screen telling me it understands the key, but it refuses to comply. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I tried downloading the logitech drivers, but I've no idea which are the drivers as there are many control apps on their page.
Then again, I should not have to install those drivers just to have the last three function keys work properly.

ps I love my Mac, I've a lot to learn from the OS.

I answered both my questions after sitting behind my mac all day.
1. I could turn off the lights by installing Logi Options
2. It's not possible sending keyboard commands over the Thunderbolt 3 or HDMI cables. Just audio/video. It seems in Microsoft Windows or Linux it is possible. So it's an Apple thing. There are third party workarounds, but I'll leave it at that.
