Chances are, it would install... however, you would be unable to activate it. Unless you bought a copy specifically for this, your copy will only work for 30 days, or whatever it is that they give you for an activation period.

but then i can purchase a licsence?

should i just go out and get a new disk?

What? Why wouldn't it activate?

I've used OEM Disks on custom or other companies PCs - in fact, thats the only way to install Media Center Edition...

has anyone used an oem disk? so will it work?

just wanna save myself a long drive. don't mind paying for xp while i register or whatever convoluted process xp and microsoft has.
