I have a 4 year old Black Macbook, and have had two screen issues within the last year. The first was I had 10+ dead pixels, and got my screen replaced. Since it was replaced I have found more dead pixels and just recently have found out I either have a bad inverter cable or bad LCD back light (my screen is completely dark, but I can faintly see my desktop and login screen, and everything looks fine when hooked up to a different monitor).

With all of my issues seeming to be screen related, I was wondering if it was just random luck or possibly something else going on. I treat my computer very well, have a hard case for it and have never dropped it.

There's a third option to the backlight issue: it could be the inverter.

I don't see any logical reason to worry about this because it's two "screen issues." They're most likely unrelated. It's like saying, "My dog peed on the floor and then the power went out. I've had two house issues in one day! Should I be worried?"
