I have a 1.25 Ghz PowerMac G4. I used to have 2x 512 mb of PC2700 (for Macs) Kingston RAM that used to work perfectly fine -- Recently I purchased another set of Mac certified 2 x 512 mb of PC2700 Crucial RAM and installed it.

It was working fine for the first few days.. then suddenly my computer started to randomly lock up - just yesterday OS X stopped loading. When I removed either brand of RAM (just using 2x512 of Crucial, or 2x512 of Kingston) the problem is resolved.

So the problem it seems is that those two sets cannot be used together... unfortunately - it's a waste of 100 dollars to just chuck one of the sets of ram, and it seems like a waste of money to buy another set of the same brand..

Is there any other way around this? I know Macs are finnicky with RAM.. is there a possible software fix?
