Hi I had just a quick question. I need to hook up a sound card, midi keyboard and my usb mouse to the MBP. It'll plug in and provide the ports you need, but it may not supply enough power dependent on the device needs. Powered hubs work best in some cases since the 5v isn't expected to be shared from the computers bus. What you've linked to isn't a powered hub.
Powered hubs can be great if they are of good quality. I use one on my iMac. Unpowered ones aren't very good.
