Hello,

I just bought a new macbook, and downloaded iMovie and Garage Band from the app store as part of the free app program.

However, it looks like I now have two versions on my macbook of each respective app:

iMovie - purple star icon
iMovie 9.0.9 - black and gold icon

Garage Band - Guitar Icon
Garage Band 6.0.5 - Same Guitar Icon

All of them seem to work. Why did this happen and can I simply delete the old versions?

Since Apple changed iMovie & Garageband significantly, it does not automatically uninstall the older version because there are still some people who want to stick with the older one. If you tried and liked the new one, you can simply put the older version in trash.

Thanks! I'll play around with both and delete the ones I don't want.
