Two Watches Simultaneously - One on wrist, one for music. Possible?

I want to get this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZDMJ75...olid=2A3MTNBWTEVUK&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) to wear when swimming, but I only want to use it for music. I want to use my wrist mounted watch for tracking swimming laps/strokes.

Does anybody know if this would work? I don't want the one for music to do anything except play music, so it wouldn't need to be actively paired with my phone. But can I have one on my wrist recording a workout while the other one is usable as a music player and not connected the phone?

I don't see why not. I'd just say that for the watch that's playing music, turn off fitness tracking (Apple Watch app on iPhone/Privacy/Fitness Tracking) so you don't get some weird double data for your workout (I don't know what a watch on your head would think of your workout, but it would definitely record something). You don't even need to unpair the music-playing watch from the phone, since more than one watch can be paired to the same phone, but you could, if you want.

I suppose it would work OK so long as you aren’t running the Bluetooth stack on the autistic-mode watch through the phone. Direct connection to the headphones. Just be sure to shut off auto-connect in the watch app.
